Japanese Gyokuro

Gyokuro green tea is considered to be one of the highest quality teas to come from Japan and is renowned for its sweet delicate flavour. The gyokuro tea leaf is a vibrant green needle like leaf which has been carefully cultivated for optimum flavour.
Great care is taken during the growing process to ensure the leaves develop the delicate flavours. During growth large shades are placed over the tea garden around two weeks before picking, this has been done for centuries in Japan for a variety of teas.

Brewing Tips
  • Filtered water is preferred but not essential, and water used should be below 70 degrees C. If you over brew your gyokuro it will become bitter.
  • Gyokuro should be infused for approximately 2 minutes.
  • Being a high quality tea gyokuro can be infused multipul times.
Trying this tea is a must for any tea enthusiast.
Enjoy!

Moroccan Mint Ice Tea

There is nothing better than a refreshing ice tea to help you relax during the warmer months.
At The Tea Centre we have a Moroccan mint green tea which is perfect for making ice tea. The combination of the crisp mint and pure flavour of the green tea makes a classic ice tea.

Ingredients
Step 1 - Put your tea leaves into an infuser and place into the cold water, using cold water will stop the green tea from becoming bitter. This will need to infuse for at least 4 hours however for the fullest flavour we recommend leaving it overnight.

Step 2 - Add the sugar to the boiling water and mix till dissolved. Put aside and let cool until the tea is ready.

Step 3 - Combine the sugar syrup and the tea into a jug and serve in glasses with ice and fresh mint.

If you prefer a lighter mint flavour you can make this same recipe with "gunpowder organic green tea" and add mint to taste.
